SURVEYS

Machars Ecology offers a wide range of ecological surveys covering mammals (e.g. bats, otters, water voles, badgers, red squirrels and pine marten), birds (including breeding &, winter season surveys, species specific methods and vantage point (VP) surveys), reptile and amphibian surveys (incl. great crested newts) and fish habitat assessments.  

 

Our experienced staff also offer Phase 1 habitat and National Vegetation Classification (NVC, or Phase 2) surveys for terrestrial habitats. 

 

We possess motion sensitive cameras for remote monitoring of features of interest such as otter holts or badger setts and a fibre optic camera for examining holes and cavities in buildings and trees for evidence of roosting bats.
